Profile
Nurse Next Door Home Healthcare Services was created as a result of the personal experiences of the company’s two co-founders, Ken Sim and John DeHart, trying to find the right caregivers for family members. Both realized in short order how difficult it was to locate good help, finding themselves in situations where home care providers were unresponsive, unreliable, and at times even unqualified.
Understanding the importance of quality care for family members, Ken and John set out to create the most capable home care provider in Canada and beyond. Since the company was founded in 2001, Ken and John have built Nurse Next Door into Canada’s fastest growing home care franchise system and have it poised to become an industry leader across North America.
With 30 employees in its Vancouver head office, and franchise partners operating across the country, the organization provides leading home care services such as companionship, personal care, home management, end-of-life care and medical care to clients across Canada.
Challenge
Like many small businesses, Nurse Next Door needs to ensure their communications systems are up and running 24/7/365. With nearly all of their caregivers and care managers situated away from corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Nurse Next Door needed a partner that could understand their vision, their values, and their strategic plans for the future, and could develop a communications offering to meet those needs.
"We had no real communications strategy, and the vendors we were working with seemed more concerned with making their monthly commission than they did with being a true partner to our company." says Mr. David Reeve, Vice President of Client Services for Nurse Next Door.
Understanding the importance of a well-designed communications strategy, Nurse Next Door looked to current and prospective vendors across Canada to help with the development of a comprehensive communications platform.
Solution
After a lengthy proposal process with numerous vendors, Nurse Next Door selected Rogers as their partner of choice for the company’s communications platform. Nurse Next Door selected Rogers because of the breadth of industry-leading solutions available to the organization, Rogers’ unmatched track record for small business customer service and support, and the company’s dedication to deploying the most advanced and effective solutions and services at the best price points for Nurse Next Door.
"When we met with Rogers, we knew they had the capabilities needed to help us achieve our long term goals. What we didn’t expect was just how dedicated they were to becoming a long term, strategic partner," says Mr. Reeve. "They understood our core values – admire our people, wow customer service, find a better way and be passionate about making a difference – and embodied those values themselves."
