The Rogers High Speed Wireless Network is a third generation (3G) network based on HSPA (High Speed Packet Access), the latest evolution of GSM technology. GSM is the most widely-used global wireless technology standard, providing seamless roaming in over 200 countries worldwide. (HSPA is the precursor to HSDPA which provided High Speed Downlink Packet Access)
HSPA downlink data speeds are currently 8 to 10 times faster than EDGE technology
Rogers HSPA network is the fastest in Canada enabling us to deliver a user experience comparable to broadband wireless services.
178 carriers in 80 countries around the world have deployed HSPA as the next evolution of Wireless high speed access for their customers

Will Rogers offer HSPA or High Speed roaming?
All Rogers high speed devices and air cards will roam on the HSPA network in the United States for voice and data use. In North America, all Rogers high speed devices will roam on HSPA or scale back seamlessly to EDGE and will function very well at lower speeds on all four frequency bands
Outside North America, Rogers and its roaming partners who have deployed HSPA are testing to ensure that the devices will either operate on HSPA or move seamlessly to EDGE/GSM
Will HSPA give Rogers a competitive advantage over Bell and Telus?
Yes, the debut of HSPA in Canada makes Rogers the fastest wireless carrier in Canada
HSPA is the latest evolution of GSM - the world standard in wireless network technology. 178 carriers in 80 countries around the world have deployed HSPA, already surpassing EVDO coverage availability, giving our customer access to more countries to roam in than our competitors.
The Rogers High Speed Wireless Netwok offers customers 8-10 times faster service on average than that of EDGE, and is a faster service than EVDO.
Do PDA's offer access to Vision Services? No. Only Rogers Vision phones offer Video Calling, Video On Demand, Radio On Demand and Mobile TV. New HSPA devices share the new faster network, bringing a "PC like" mobile Internet experience, but do not have Vision service capabilities at this time.
