Rogers Pumpkin Patrol Pumpkin Patrol
The Rogers Pumpkin Patrol was started by employees to help keep kids safe on Halloween. For 22 years, parents living in Rogers communities have had the comfort of knowing that our bright red vans will be patrolling their streets on October 31st.
Employee volunteers in Rogers cellular and radio-equipped vans work with local police and other emergency services to spot trick-or-treaters needing assistance.

During the two weeks prior to Halloween, employees distribute safety loot packs that include a safety tips card and reflective arm band, and make safety presentations with police officers to grade 2-3 students in local schools. Rogers Pumpkin Patrol - Watching Out For Kids' Safety.

Child Find Ontario Child Find
Every year more than 60,000 children in Canada are reported missing, enough to fill every seat in the Rogers Centre. The good news is that over 90% of all children and teenagers reported missing are recovered. Child Find Ontario is dedicated to reducing the incidence of missing and exploited children in Ontario.

One of our longest-standing commitments as a company has been to Child Find. We have supported Child Find for the last 18 years. Since 1989, Rogers has printed the photograph of a missing child on our monthly cable bills. In fact, in 1999 seven of the children featured during the 12 months of the year were recovered.

At Rogers, our business is communication, and we have been doing everything we can to spread the word when a child goes missing. On Rogers Television you will see a public service announcement, photographs of missing children during commercial breaks and if you surf the Net, you will see them on our Web site.

"Child Find Ontario is honoured and proud to have Rogers as a corporate partner in our search for missing children - and our efforts to keep families and children safe. Their media and marketing support has been a critical factor in the successful location of many Canadian missing children over the past years. Rogers Television profiles of missing children are the number one source of caller tips to our 1-800 national tip line. In fact in June 2000 we had a major recovery of a 15 year old girl missing from Ottawa, who was spotted in Vancouver by a woman who recognized the young girl's photo from a Rogers Cable public service announcement featuring missing children. Our success in locating missing children, supporting their families and teaching safety skills to children is due in large part to the generous and strategic support of the wonderful team at Rogers," says Trish Derby, Executive Director - Child Find Ontario.

Cybertip.ca logo Cybertip.ca
Cybertip.ca is Canada's National tipline for receiving and addressing reports from the public regarding child pornography, luring, child sex tourism, and children who are exploited through prostitution. It also provides the public with information, referrals and other resources to help Canadians keep their children safe while on the Internet.

The mandate for this organization is to help combat child exploitation on the Internet while continuing to preserve and promote use of the Internet for the free flow of legitimate and wide-ranging information, entertainment and educational content.

Our involvement with organizations such as Cybertip.ca is just one example of the leadership that Rogers has taken to support issues that are critical to the community.
