SupportLink
SupportLink is a program that provides safety planning, follow-up contact and wireless phones pre-programmed to 9-1-1 to people at risk of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.
First launched in April 1998 as a pilot project in Ottawa and Barrie, the Victims’ Justice Action Plan made permanent the pilot sites and expanded the program to include an additional 18 sites for a total of 20. SupportLink is available in Barrie, Brant, Belleville, Dufferin, Durham, Guelph, Middlesex, Muskoka, Niagara, North Bay, North Simcoe, Ottawa, Peel, Peterborough, Sarnia-Lambton, Sudbury, Timmins, Toronto, Windsor/Essex and York Region.
SupportLink is an alliance with Ericsson Canada Inc., Rogers Wireless and the Ministry of the Attorney General. Rogers Wireless provides cellular phones and donates air time to support this worthy cause.
